Design Communication

Square

In this class, I was introduced to the fundamental skills of architectural design communication. It helped me develop my skills in different drawing techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, scribbling, stippling, shading and smudging. These skills were put to the test when my teammates and I had to visit sites all over Kuala Lumpur and assess the different styles of each building. As for the majority of my time, the class had to focus on using our design communication skills, using the influential building ‘The Rietveld Schroder House’ by the Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld as reference, to portray the floor plans, elevations, sections, isometrics drawing, axometric drawing, one-point perspective and finally a two-point perspective drawing.
